According to the Texas Historical Commission, the Ellis County Courthouse, completed in 1897, is a magnificent Romanesque Revival structure made of red sandstone with a 118-foot clock tower. This iconic landmark anchors downtown Waxahachie and has been featured in numerous films for its timeless architectural beauty.
